Hit Streak Over, Jaguars Stop Chew Tuesday, July 25th, 1939 The streak has been snapped. Zhu-lan Chew failed to get a hit in today's game against the Rio de Janeiro Jaguars, bringing his 20-game hitting spree to an end. The 28-year-old Buenos Aires left fielder was 0-for-4, but the Dolphins got the win and defeated the Jaguars 2-1. "I'm not disappointed at all -- I had a great run," Chew said. "I got to 20 games. I got my name into an elite group with a bunch of good ballplayers. What's there to complain about?" This year Chew has hit at a .302 clip with 54 RBIs, 3 home runs and 65 runs scored. |
