Díaz on Fire: 5-for-6 for Mexico City
Thursday, May 14th , 2144
It was a sensational day at the plate for Carlos Díaz as he led the charge to a 22-3 win over the Thunderbirds. The Mexico City left fielder was pure misery for the El Paso pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.

"Díaz put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said AP MP, manager for the Thunderbirds, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."

Carlos Díaz hit a two-run home run off Sami Gill in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Luis León in the 5th and hit an RBI double in the 7th.

Looking at his present stats, Díaz has compiled a .343 batting average in 31 games with a .381 on-base percentage, while hitting 4 home runs and driving in 16 runs.
