Tirumalesa Touches All Bases, Hits for Cycle Sunday, June 18th , 2147 Some days everything just falls in place. It all came together for Jayaratha Tirumalesa and the Bergen Castles today at Cybermen Ballpark. The Castles went home winners and the shortstop had a 4-for-4 day that included the cycle, a baseball rarity. "He sure was a wrecking ball today," said Bergen manager following his club's 6-2 taming of the Daejeon Monks. Jayaratha Tirumalesa doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Leo Cartridge in the 8th. Tirumalesa has collected 49 hits for the Castles this year, 1 of them home runs. He has also netted 12 RBIs and scored 24 runs while batting .255. |
