ABL-AAA Player of the Week Named Monday, July 24th , 2147 No single hit brought Kokaji Jahi Player of the Week honors -- the Curitiba Toucans center fielder corralled the award with a consistent approach in every at-bat. "Hitting is all about discipline," said Jahi. "When you lose focus, start to lunge at the ball and swing too aggressively... swinging at a lot of bad pitches... that's when your average starts to drop and you wind up fighting for playing time. You're most successful when you concentrate on the ball and make 'em throw strikes." Concentrate he did. Jahi stroked 5 hits in 7 at-bats while cranking out 1 home run, 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored. So far this year Jahi is batting .417 with 1 home run. |
