Jaguars Prevail, as Divisional Series Goes to the Wire Tuesday, September 19th , 2147 The Divisional Series went the distance before it all was said and done. The Belem Jaguars and the Porto Alegre Toucans went at it tooth-and-nail and when it was over at Foxes Ballpark, the winner was the Jaguars. They put away Porto Alegre 6-3 to cinch the series and won the right to move onto the League Championship Series. For his fine play, even in a losing effort, Porto Alegre center fielder Tekle Jalali was given the series Most Valuable Player Award. He hit .412, scored 3 runs and batted in 3 to win the honor. "It's nice that someone noticed my numbers, but I'd trade it in a heartbeat for a win," he said. The Belem Jaguars don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Pinar Del Rio Vegueros - Austin Grackles series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Divisional Series finishes. |
