Total Control: Naperville No-Hit by Martínez Friday, June 23rd , 2147 Traverse City Cherries starter Arturo Martínez was unhittable today at Ballpark of Naperville. Martínez beat the Naperville Pubcrawlers 6-0, breezing through the Pubcrawlers lineup en route to a no-hitter. "I thought Arturo started off a little slow and was struggling with his command at first," Cherries manager said later. "He lucked his way through the early innings, and they helped him out by not being patient. Eventually, it all came together for him, and from there on the Pubcrawlers never had a chance. He dominated them." Martínez struck out 6 batters and issued 2 walks in the performance. This season Martínez has gone 9-4 with an ERA of 3.40, posting 109 strikeouts in 100.2 innings. |
