Zhao Spins No-Hitter Wednesday, August 9th , 2147 Long Beach Stars starter Zhang Zhao was unhittable today at Long Beach Grounds. Zhao beat the Goiania Toucans 4-0, breezing through the Toucans lineup en route to a no-hitter. "I thought Zhang started off a little slow and was struggling with his command at first," Stars manager said later. "He lucked his way through the early innings, and they helped him out by not being patient. Eventually, it all came together for him, and from there on the Toucans never had a chance. He dominated them." Zhao struck out 8 batters and issued 1 walk in the performance. Thus far this season, Zhao has tossed 139 innings in 20 starts, fanned 119 batters, walked 37 and put up a 2.40 ERA with 8 wins and 7 losses. |
