Long Beach Blanked by Holyday Tuesday, September 5th , 2147 Traverse City Cherries starter Gary Holyday really did a number on the Long Beach Stars today, shutting them out 6-0 on 5 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 2 walks and had 3 strikeouts. "We didn't have good at-bats," said Long Beach manager . "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Holyday." In the current season in 26 starts, Gary Holyday has a record of 15-4 with 173 strikeouts in 184 innings and a 1.96 ERA. |
