Mu'ayyad Whacks 3 out of the Park for Kisumu Wednesday, August 23rd , 2147 Kisumu catcher Jibril Mu'ayyad saw a fantastic day go to waste at Samara Grounds today as the Cheetahs dropped a 9-5 decision despite a trio of home runs from the youngster. "It seems kinda odd, you know?" a somewhat dejected Mu'ayyad said after his club's defeat. "I mean, hitting three home runs in one game should be enough to win a game, right? I guess that's why they call it a team sport. Tomorrow I might strike out four times and other guys pick me up and we win. It takes more than one guy to get a win." The 22-year-old tallied three homers in a 3-for-4 day, and added 5 RBIs and 3 scored. "That guy really had a game, didn't he?" said Tianjin manager . "Luckily we were able to shut down the rest of the team. We are feeling good about getting out of here with the win." Jibril Mu'ayyad hit a solo-shot off Mario Medina in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Mario Medina in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Maklolm Alqvist in the 8th. This year Mu'ayyad has hit at a .208 clip with 27 RBIs, 10 home runs and 31 runs scored. |
