Meteors End Ottenhof's Streak
Tuesday, June 18th, 2109
Seoul first baseman Matt Ottenhof came into today's game against the Melbourne Meteors on a hot streak. He left on a cold one.
The Meteors did their jobs well, beating the Seoul Brothers 3-2 and holding Ottenhof hitless to snap his 20-game hitting streak. The 26-year-old first baseman had a few words to say after finishing 0-for-4, telling reporters only that he "came up short."
"What Matt did was exciting and quite an achievement," said Brothers manager Hitby Atrain. "It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 20 games in a row. I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play."
This year Ottenhof has 10 home runs and a .283 batting average.
