One of our owners mentioned the possibility of changing the default development settings (how quickly players improve and then get worse as they age). I have never messed with those settings but we could speed up development and slow down aging. These two combined would cause longer careers for the best players in the WBA. Any thoughts from everyone?

Another league I'm in did research and found that the most realistic setting was the following;
Batter Development: 1.00
Batter Aging: 0.75
Pitcher Development: 1.00
Pitching Aging: 0.75

Hmm, thanks for the input. Seems like that will help guys stick around a bit longer as they age. I looked it up on the forums and those settings are recommended by some OOTP vets. Anyone else have any experience testing out those settings?

The settings captaincoop are solid. Personally, I like development to get a little boost.
Batter Dev. at 1.200 and Pitcher Dev. at 1.100 are settings I'm comfortable with. Teams that are rebuilding get a little boost timewise in the development of its spects: alway a good thing for those that have struggled with their teams or are taking over a franchise in poor shape.
captainc has presented settings i would be comfortable with.

I agree at some level with improving development speeds slightly because it's an online league so an owner/GM in rebuilding mode can't just simply play out the seasons faster. But then if we combine that with slow aging then careers would end up maybe too long, right? What about a compromise:
Batter Development: 1.150
Batter Aging: 0.800
Pitcher Development: 1.050
Pitching Aging: 0.800

I wholeheartedly support the settings Mr. Huck is proposing. Players will have longer career and Huck's setting provides a little boost to their development speed.
