what's the deal with this guy (http://www.worldbaseballassociation.com/reports/news/html/players/player_3250.html) retiring? seems kinda like BS. i'd be pissed if he was my guy.
-
Looks like Carolina forgot to extend him as a minor league free agent and then he decided to retire. He has a terrible agent who failed to mention that he'd get a ton of offers.
-
Looked at it more after JohnC pointed out when he was drafted. Our minor league free agency is after 5 years. This guy should not have become a minor league free agent, and I'm going to assume that he therefore wouldn't have retired. I'm unretiring him and placing him back on Duluth (Carolina's AAA affiliate).
-
Kind of scary that OOTP messed up and retired him prematurely. Let's see if it does that with any other players.
-
We have storylines on so if there had been a news story about how he retired to pursue a movie career or something like that then I'd let it stand. But based on his history it's pretty clear there was a glitch where he became a free agent too early. OOTP writes to a player history in the order that things happen so the fact it says he became a minor league free agent before it says he retired is telling.
There's a chance I'm interpreting this incorrectly but it's better to err in this direction than have a guy lose a prospect when he shouldn't.
-
I agree. Carolina shouldn’t lose the guy in a situation like this, which definitely looks like an OOTP glitch.
-
I'm also in agreement. This was pretty clearly a glitch.

Why is this glitch targeting Carolina?? lol.. Now Nobert Rhodes, probably the best prospect in the game has retired. No email, no nothing...
Maybe the new patch will correct this??
Huck???
