Aztecs Beaten By Stars, 3-2

The Los Angeles Stars put the giddy home crowd in an even more jubilant mood after beating the Mexico City Aztecs in the season opener at Field of the Stars. Right Fielder Kristoffer Tengesdal won plaudits for Los Angeles. He went 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Clodio Castanhedo collected his 1st save.
With the game tied in the bottom of the fifth inning, Tengesdal had a clutch at-bat. That's when he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Stars a 2-1 lead.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Mexico City manager Square Drive said, following the tough loss.
