Rio de Janeiro center fielder Naruhiko Goto contributed significantly to his team's 7-0 win over the Sao Paulo Toucans. Goto, who finished 4th in the ABL in batting average with .313 in 2150, went 3 for 3 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Jaguars. The win gives Rio de Janeiro a record of 9-2.

Leo Brooks, who finished 3rd in the ABL in doubles with 48 in 2150, took Sao Paulo hurler António Moreno deep in the bottom of the first. His 2-run home run put the Jaguars on top, 2-0. In all, Brooks had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.

"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Rio de Janeiro skipper Echo 127.
