Rome Generals starter Miguel Salazar pitched well against the Black Forest Foxes at The Den, leading his team to a win, 5-3. Roberto Lugo earned the save, his 4th, for the Generals. Black Forest falls to 4-7.
In the top of the fourth, Dharr bin Suhayb delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Rome shortstop hit a 2-run single, putting the Generals in front, 5-3.
Rome manager Tx Horns commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
