The Los Angeles Stars scored a tight, 3-2 win versus the Detroit Blue Gills at Tokyo Ballpark. Los Angeles pitcher Maximino Trapa held his own in the contest. The Stars, now 2-0, have been playing some good baseball.

Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Jesús Sosa to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Stars on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Detroit manager El Weston.
