Tokyo Beaten, 5-4, by Melbourne in 12
|
The Melbourne Meteors beat the Tokyo Fitzies, 5-4, in 12 innings. Melbourne pitcher and Kaunas, Lithuania, native Borya Jevakhov led the way. Laroya Canlas nailed down the save. With the loss, Tokyo drops to 5-6.
Melbourne needed the clutch hitting of Bill Martin to seal the deal. The right fielder swatted a solo home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Meteors on top, 5-4. For the game, Martin had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Jevakhov.
