Stars Use Late Score to Top Thunderbirds, 3-2

Field of the Stars played host to some high drama.
The Los Angeles Stars faced a tough opponent in El Paso pitcher Xiao-xuan Wu, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Field of the Stars by a final score of 3-2. Wu went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win belonged to Clodio Castanhedo in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jed Rollin took the loss for El Paso.
Yunes Chekhemani was the walk-off hero for Los Angeles. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Stars pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This game was intense," Chekhemani said, postgame.
The Thunderbirds, now 4-9, continue their slow start.
