In a close game at Ballpark of Mexico City, the Mexico City Aztecs edged the Havana Dolphins, 5-4. Mexico City shortstop Miguel Dueñas stood apart with his performance. He hit 2 home runs. Hayato Tsuchida snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Dennis Jancke suffered the loss. Havana falls to 1-1.

In the bottom of the ninth, with the score tied, Dueñas hammered a solo home run to win it for Mexico City.
