Melbourne beat Karachi at Muhammad Ali Jinnah Stadium, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to first baseman Sima Lovre. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The win went to Max Schmalzl in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Kateb Ouko took the loss. Picking up the save was Borya Jevakhov, his 1st.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Gaspard DeFelice? The 24-year old second baseman DeFelice stroked a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Melbourne up, 6-5. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 2 doubles and 1 single.

"Double, double toil and trouble," said losing manager Slu Baseball. "It's like we're cursed."

To call the performance of the 2155 Falcons subpar is an understatement.
