The timely hitting of Bernard Salle helped the Beijing Emperors down the Tokyo Samurai, 5-2. Salle went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times for the Emperors. Picking up the save was Bing-zhang Chin, his 3rd. The Emperors, now 11-3, have been on fire in the early going.
Beijing took a 5-2 lead on Salla Usaama's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Usaama hit in the top of the ninth, left Tokyo pitcher Pedro Peña visibly frustrated.
"I like the roll we're on right now," said Salle after the game.
