Sao Paulo and Santo Domingo duked it out and the Toucans came out victorious.

A 4-RBI performance from Yao-qing Liang helped the Sao Paulo Toucans beat the Santo Domingo Palmchats, 6-3. Sao Paulo reliever José Barajas got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Wei-fang Cheng was tagged with the loss.

Mike Leroy took Santo Domingo hurler Wei-fang Cheng deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the Toucans on top, 4-3. In all, Leroy had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Liang.

The loss puts Santo Domingo at 8-7.
