Stars Take Down Toucans, 5-3
The Los Angeles Stars locked up a win at Field of the Stars, knocking off the Sao Paulo Toucans, 5-3. On the mound for Los Angeles was right-hander Driss Denis. He played a major role in the triumph. In 6.2 innings, Denis surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. Los Angeles has a mark of 9-8 after the win.

Jesús Sosa had a big solo home run for the Stars in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Los Angeles leading 3-2 and the bases empty, he sized up a curveball from Mariano Segura, who finished 5th in the ABL in ERA with 3.60 in 2148, and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Stars on top, 4-2.

Los Angeles manager Alex G was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
