Toucans Pin 5-2 Loss on El Paso
|
Sao Paulo Toucans starter Jihad bin Ghazi turned in a top-notch performance against the El Paso Thunderbirds at Toucans Ballpark. The result was a win for the Toucans, 5-2. bin Ghazi got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 4 hits and walked 3 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Getting the save was Anthony Dalton, his 4th.
Sao Paulo shortstop Yusuf Hasni contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 20th hit of the season and put the Toucans ahead, 3-2.
"We take it day by day here," said Hasni, "and today was a good one for us."
The Thunderbirds, now 4-13, continue their poor start.
