The Daegu Monks got a superb performance from pitcher Giacomo Cafagna, but the Cairo Pharaohs still won the game, 4-3. Cafagna threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. The win went to Ernest Davis in relief, making him now 1-0. Alastair Bacon took the loss for Daegu. The loss drops Daegu to 8-9.

The Pharaohs got a clutch hit from center fielder Mo Lam. In the bottom of the 12th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Pharaohs.

"We didn't go down without a fight," said Daegu manager R Beadle.
