Foxes Edge Emperors, 4-3
|
Black Forest starter Mariano Ochoa pitched well against the Beijing Emperors at The Den. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. In 8 innings, Ochoa surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 6. He allowed 3 runs. Anuhlada Phadkar notched his 4th save of the season.
The Foxes got a big at-bat from left fielder Abdul Salam Durrani. For the game, Durrani was 1 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 5th double of the season gave Black Forest a 2-1 lead.
Beijing manager Kev In said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
