The Emperors grabbed a win, 6-2, at The Colosseum, overcoming a fine effort from Rome pitcher Carlos Rúbio. Rúbio went 5 innings and allowed 1 run. The victory makes Beijing 15-5, as the team seeks a return to the playoffs in 2155.
The Emperors got a big at-bat from shortstop Bernard Salle. For the game, Salle went 1 for 5 with a home run. In the top of the third, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Beijing a 1-0 lead.
Salle attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
