Foxes Drop Meteors, 2-1

Dermott Rafferty, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2148 draft, was in top form in a tight contest between Black Forest and Melbourne. The Foxes left-hander helped his team beat the Meteors, 2-1. Rafferty, the winner, moves to 3-1. He threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 3 walks. Getting the save was Wilson Rodríguez, his 4th.
Black Forest won the game in part because of Manoo Keshava. The catcher ripped a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Foxes ahead, 2-1. For the game, Keshava had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
"I was trying to do what I do, go out there and compete," said Rafferty.
The loss drops Melbourne to 11-9.
