The Detroit Blue Gills beat the Sao Paulo Toucans, 9-2, at Tokyo Ballpark. Jesús Aguilera, who is tied for 6th in the ABL in hits with 28, starred for Detroit. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. The Blue Gills have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 7th win in 23 games.

Detroit grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Aguilera hit a 2-run home run off Luis Moreno. His 4th home run of the season put the Blue Gills out in front, 3-1.

"What a lackluster performance," lamented losing manager Casey Blake DeWitt.
