Thunderbirds Drop Dolphins, 5-2, with Late Score
The El Paso Thunderbirds got a marvelous performance from pitcher Tien Dung Long. The right-hander kept the Havana offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 5-2 El Paso victory at El Estadio Latinoamericano. Chong-yee Ming picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Amadeu Feyst suffered the loss. The win brings the Thunderbirds to 14-10, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.

El Paso won the game in part because of Gianpaolo Belmondo. The left fielder ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Thunderbirds ahead, 5-2. For the game, Belmondo had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"We're not exactly playing great right now," said Dan Farnell, the Havana manager.
