Beijing second baseman Okura Ojima was sensational. He was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Cairo beat the Emperors, 9-7, in 12 innings. Beijing now has a record of 16-8.

Cairo used the hitting of Yuki Sugano to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Pharaohs on top, 9-7. For the game, Sugano had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"There's no quit in this team," said Pharaohs manager J Stell.
