El Paso pitcher Tien Dung Long did his part in helping his team defeat the Detroit Blue Gills, 8-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Dae-il Kim got the win, improving to 2-2. He worked 9 innings, giving up 1 run on 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. The Blue Gills fall to 8-17 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2151 season.

Gianpaolo Belmondo had a big run-scoring double for the Thunderbirds in the top of the third inning. With El Paso leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from former first round draft pick Leo Morris and swatted a double to center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Thunderbirds ahead, 2-0.
