The Havana Dolphins could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Rens Buizer into a win. Instead, the Detroit Blue Gills prevailed, 4-3, in 10 innings. Buizer threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The loss puts Havana at 17-8.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Detroit right fielder Labeeb bin Hussein, facing Kwan-yew Lei, had a run-scoring ground out. It gave the Blue Gills the 4-3 win.

bin Hussein said afterward that he was "glad the fans were treated to a good ballgame."
