Toucans Handed 7-3 Loss by Rio de Janeiro
|
The Rio de Janeiro Jaguars defeated the Sao Paulo Toucans, 7-3, at Rio de Janeiro Grounds. Leading the charge for Rio de Janeiro was first baseman Leo Brooks. He went 2-3 with a triple and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Britt Leonard was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. Rio de Janeiro goes to 1-2.
Rio de Janeiro third baseman Dae-hwan Koo contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a cutter to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 1st hit of the season and put the Jaguars ahead, 2-0.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Rio de Janeiro manager Echo 127.
