In a low-scoring tilt between the Rome Generals and the Cairo Pharaohs, Adrien Verger, who is tied for 3rd in the IBL in innings pitched with 42.0, was the difference-maker. The Rome right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Verger yielded 1 run over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 4-1. Roberto Lugo picked up his 9th save of the season.

Paulo Casco helped his team take an early lead with a run-scoring single. It came in the first inning, making the score 1-0, Generals.

"We busted our tails," said Cairo manager J Stell. "But we came up short."

The loss lowers the Cairo record to 13-14.
