The Detroit Blue Gills picked up a win at Tokyo Ballpark, downing the Chicago Beefs, 4-2. On the mound for Detroit was right-hander Yoshinori Matsushita, who played a pivotal role in the win. The save went to Osman Sumbatashvili, number 4 for him. The Blue Gills, now 9-19, have not found much traction so far in 2151.

Detroit took a 4-2 lead on Mike Price's 3rd triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Price hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Chicago pitcher Tatsukichi Shibata visibly frustrated.

Price attributed the win to his team's "determination."
