Brouard Propels Foxes to 6-3 Win
|
The Black Forest Foxes beat the Rome Generals, 6-3, at The Colosseum. The Foxes got a fine performance from third baseman Ewan Brouard, who was 4-5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. The winner was Gilg Koch, who threw 106 pitches over 7.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits. Wilson Rodríguez got the save, the 6th for him this season.
With Black Forest leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Brouard hit a fastball from Ángel Castillo for a bases-clearing double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Foxes ahead, 4-0.
"Solid performance from our side," said Foxes manager DP Woodford.
