Falcons Roll to 9-3 Win Over Emperors
|
No one was more impactful than Calisto Ehrlich in the 9-3 Karachi win over Beijing. Ehrlich, who finished 4th in the IBL in stolen bases with 36 in 2152, went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 3. Amrus Mtembei, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-1. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 9 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Karachi is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 9th win in 28 games.
Serafino Cardigos was 1-4. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Karachi. The 27-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a 2-run single off Vladimir Cvijic. It was his 4th hit of the season.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Karachi manager Slu Baseball.
