Belmondo Belts 2 Homers in 9-7 Win
Gianpaolo Belmondo, who finished 4th in the ABL in runs with 122 last year, had a 3-RBI night to help the El Paso Thunderbirds down the Los Angeles Stars, 9-7. El Paso pitcher Tien Dung Long got the win. He's now 3-2. Maximino Trapa was tagged with the loss. With the loss, Los Angeles drops to 13-16.

With El Paso leading 2-1 in the bottom of the third, Belmondo hit a splitter from Maximino Trapa for a 2-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Thunderbirds ahead, 4-1.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said El Paso manager AP MP.
