Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the El Paso Thunderbirds home opener. Madhavrao Satyen started for the home team against Javier Villegas for the Rio de Janeiro Jaguars. The Thunderbirds were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 3-2, Rio de Janeiro, in 11 innings. Madhavrao Satyen, though, was impressive.

Guy Pacio came through with a big-time hit for Rio de Janeiro. The third baseman smacked a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Our team showed some spunk," said Pacio.
