Aztecs Improve to 17-14 with 6-3 Win
|
Jesús Flores, who is tied for 2nd in the ABL with a 9.1 K/9 rate, had a strong outing for the Mexico City Aztecs against the Detroit Blue Gills at Ballpark of Mexico City. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 6-3 win. In 6 innings, Flores surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. The save was credited to Hayato Tsuchida, his 7th.
The Aztecs got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Ju-choer Song. For the game, Song was 1-1 with a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 2nd double of the season gave Mexico City a 5-3 lead.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Song.
The Blue Gills, now 11-20, continue their inauspicious start.
