The Los Angeles Stars trumped the Detroit Blue Gills, 8-4, at Field of the Stars. Los Angeles center fielder Velimir Aleksic was terrific. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Maximino Trapa picked up the win, lifting his record to 5-3 on the season. He struck out 4 and walked 4 in 6 innings, while yielding 2 runs. The losing streak for Detroit has now reached 4 games.

Los Angeles grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Aleksic hit a solo home run off Leo Morris. His 4th home run of the season put the Stars out in front, 3-2.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Aleksic told a Los Angeles Citizen reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
