The Mexico City Aztecs got a superb performance from first baseman Ignacio Padilla, but the El Paso Thunderbirds still won the game, 8-6. Padilla was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. El Paso pitcher Tien Dung Long got the win. He's now 3-1. Jin-u Kim was tagged with the loss. Timothy Adamczak earned save number 6 this season.

Abraha Saqr, who finished 3rd in the ABL in RBI with 119 in 2146, came through for El Paso with a 2-run double in the bottom of the sixth. The right fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 3 RBI.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Saqr.

The Thunderbirds now have a record of 16-18 with the win over Mexico City.
