Losing Trend Continues for Black Forest
|
The 2151 season is getting uglier for Black Forest.
The Melbourne Meteors defeated the Black Forest Foxes, 7-5, at The Den. Owen Rabbetts produced 2 singles and 1 double, while scoring 1 run and driving in 2. Kumar Lata nailed down his 3rd save.
Borivoj Schima had a big 2-run triple for the Meteors in the top of the third inning. With Melbourne leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Scott Merritt and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Meteors ahead, 5-0.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Melbourne manager Bob Meteors.
The Foxes, now 10-24, have lost 6 in a row.
