Thunderbirds Lose By a Run at Mexico City
|
The Mexico City Aztecs eked out a 3-2 win versus the El Paso Thunderbirds at Ballpark of Mexico City. Nobody did more than pitcher Jin-u Kim. He was terrific. Mexico City reliever Xing-hua Hua was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Madhavrao Satyen took the loss. The Aztecs are now 45-34, while the Thunderbirds fall to 37-42.
Had Ignacio Padilla not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Padilla hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Aztecs.
"Jin-u did a good job of managing their lineup," said Mexico City manager Square Drive.
