Field of the Stars hosted a real pitchers' duel.

Starting pitcher Guo-fang Ming gave the Detroit Blue Gills a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Los Angeles Stars, 2-1, at Field of the Stars. The save went to Osman Sumbatashvili, his 9th this season.

Wildemar Sabuero had a direct impact on the outcome. Sabuero contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Detroit up, 1-0.

"Guo-fang was Guo-fang," said Blue Gills manager Detroit Dave. "We know what we'll get whenever he takes the mound."

The last-place Blue Gills own a record of 19-60.
