Gerardo Mendoza could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Melbourne Meteors lost, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Karachi Falcons at Meteor Crater. The win went to Carlos Iquina in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Gerardo Mendoza took the loss. Melbourne has now lost 4 consecutive games.

Hae-nim Kwon, who is tied for 8th in the IBL in triples with 3, helped out the Karachi cause in the top of the seventh inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the shortstop went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Karachi manager Slu Baseball. "It's usually not just one thing."
