Abdul-Wahhab bin Idris made an impact in the 7-2 Havana win over Rio de Janeiro. bin Idris, who finished 3rd in the IBL in OPS with .959 in 2151, slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. By defeating Rio de Janeiro, the first-place Dolphins improved to 47-35.
With Havana leading 4-0 in the bottom of the fourth, bin Idris batted against Rio de Janeiro pitcher Anuhlada Phadkar. bin Idris hit a fastball to left for a 3-run home run. His 20th home run of the season put the Dolphins on top, 7-0.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said bin Idris. "And not try to do too much."
