A 4-RBI performance from the 26-year old shortstop Marcos Escamilla helped the Daegu Monks beat the Melbourne Meteors, 9-6. The victory puts Daegu at 11-24.

With the game tied, 5-5, in the top of the sixth, Escamilla had a key at-bat for Daegu. With the bases loaded, Escamilla hit a 2-run single off Félix Soto, making the score 7-5, Monks.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Monks manager R Beadle. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
