Toucans Fall Short, 5-4, at Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico right-hander Wendel Lippelt pitched his team to victory over the Sao Paulo Toucans at Ballpark of San Juan. The final score was 5-4. Lippelt yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 6-5. Igoryok Faktorovich earned the save for Puerto Rico, his 20th.
Puerto Rico went up, 5-2, on Li-hong Guang's 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Guang hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Sao Paulo pitcher Alfonso Vásquez shaking his head.
"Both teams played hard," said Puerto Rico manager Kir By.
Puerto Rico raised its record to 45-38 with the win.
