Generals Lose, 3-1
|
Chinh Tran-Dinh, who is tied for 3rd in the IBL in wins with 7, was locked in. The left-hander led the Cairo Pharaohs to a 3-1 win against the Rome Generals at The Colosseum. The save went to Carlos Mitchinson, his 14th this season. The Pharaohs now own a record of 41-42.
Cairo used the timely hitting of Badal Unmesh to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Pharaohs on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Chinh made some big pitches when he needed to," said Pharaohs manager J Stell.
