Foxes Spill Fitzies, 3-1
|
Black Forest starter Gilg Koch kept the Tokyo offense from doing much damage. The right-hander leaned on his curveball in leading the Foxes to a 3-1 win. The save went to Wilson Rodríguez, his 18th this season. Black Forest occupies 4th place in the Intercontinental Baseball League Afro-European Division at 39-44.
Ewan Brouard, who is tied for 9th in the IBL with a .310 batting average, had a direct impact on the outcome. Brouard contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put Black Forest up, 2-0.
"Gilg's as tough as he is talented," said Black Forest manager DP Woodford.
